Software Development Engineer - III (Web)

Role Purpose: At Jumio, you will work for one of the market leaders in the global identity verification space (eKYC) that is helping to make the digital world a safer place for everyone. As a Senior Front-end Developer, you will join our Web team and support the development of the next generation of our Web SDK.

T-Shaped Engineering Expectation:

In addition to your deep expertise in front-end development, you will embody a T-shaped engineering approach by contributing to the broader engineering practices. This includes a strong focus on testing automation, user experience, and collaboration with backend and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration. You will take ownership of delivering high-quality, maintainable code that not only meets immediate project goals but also supports long-term scalability and performance

Example Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop and expand our Web SDK and Web Client
• Innovate and design solutions with the team, setting new industry benchmarks
• Uphold best practices in software development, advocating for excellence in quality, documentation, and implementation
• Work closely with Product Owners, QA Engineers, and DevOps
• Craft maintainable code that sets the standard for clarity and understandability

Experience and Qualifications 

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development
• Profound knowledge of web technologies and their impact on project outcomes
• Experienced in web/front-end technologies such as TypeScript, REST, and related relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g. Lit, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, React, … )
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and structured thinking abilities
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Great to have Experience and Qualifications 

• Experience working in a globally distributed team
• Full-stack development skills, including Java Spring Boot and AWS
• Knowledge of integrating ML models in Web
• Experience with bundlers (Vite, Rollup, Webpack, …)
• Experience in developing and shipping libraries/SDKs
• OSS contributions
• Deep knowledge of performance optimizations in the browser
• Ability to understand a problem in depth
