Are you a junior software engineer with less than 3 years of experience developing software? Do you want to be part of a team that is helping the government solve major national security and defense challenges? We need your help.
Our team is looking for a software engineer that is in the early stages of their career and has basic experience developing software applications. In this position, you will be a member of a growing Agile team supporting the development of critical mission applications within Parsons’ Strategic National Solutions Directorate. You will work with software engineers and other engineering disciplines to create solutions for the Intel and Defense stakeholder community.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an engineering field; relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree
- Understanding of object-oriented software design and development techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycles
- Knowledge of web services and/or software programming interfaces (APIs)
- Experience with Source Code Management (SCM) tools (e.g. Subversion, Maven, Git)
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly
- Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS//SCI security clearance
- Willingness to submit to a CI polygraph as required
Desired Skills
- Experience with programming and scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python, C++, C, DOS, PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience working in an agile software development environment using the Scrum methodology
- Working knowledge of AI, implementation of ML models, and standard AI libraries
- Understanding of and interaction with relational databases and SQL
- Experience with Jenkins, Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker
- Experience with DevSecOps concepts and using CI/CD pipeline technologies
- Experience developing and deploying software in AWS cloud environments
- Security+ Certification
