This intern position requires you to be in a hybrid working model (at least 3 days in the office, and 2 days remote) based at the Staples, Inc. Corporate Headquarters in Framingham, MA.

Target Start Date: June 2, 2025 - August 15, 2025 (11-week program)  

Position Overview:

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Data Engineering Co-op/Intern to join our team and support various data initiatives within Enterprise Data & AI. This is an exciting opportunity for a current college student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, who is eager to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. You will have the chance to work with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, DBT, Python, and Azure, and gain hands-on experience building data pipelines and models that enable data democratization.

What you bring to the table:

  • Assist in the development and optimization of data pipelines integrating various data sources (e.g., 1st party, 3rd party) for analytics and reporting.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of data warehousing solutions using Snowflake for large-scale data processing.
  • Collaborate with senior data engineers to develop and test data models and data flows that enable personalized marketing and customer engagement.
  • Help optimize data transformation processes using DBT, ensuring data is accurate and ready for analysis.
  • Contribute to data governance, quality, and security efforts, ensuring compliance with regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
  • Work with cloud platforms such as Azure for data storage and real-time analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders) to meet business data needs.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms (experience with Snowflake and Azure is a plus).
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python for data-related tasks and scripting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What’s needed-Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) through coursework or internships.
