As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer II in Perception, you drive impact focused projects that address the everyday challenges that happen on urban roads, ones that do not have standard solutions available.

What you'll be doing:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various teams to architect and implement technologies that drive large-scale machine learning (ML) and autonomous vehicle (AV) development. Ensure alignment of ML systems with AV requirements through collaborative design and integration.

  • Technical Ownership: Lead and manage the delivery of complex technical projects related to ML system training and evaluation. 

  • Identify problems in the perception stack, and develop pragmatic, long-term software solutions tailored to the unique challenges of training and evaluating perception models. 

  • Initiate and lead new projects.

  • Have a deep understanding of the business and operational impact for different technology tradeoffs, and able to balance effectively based on company’s need

  • Enable others engineers on the team to be more effective through design and code that is easy to extend and contribute into.

  • Capable of influencing others and building consensus even over contentious technical debates.

What you must have:
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.

  • Leadership and Collaboration: Minimum of 2 years of experience leading technical teams in cross-functional projects. Proven ability to navigate a dynamic environment with shifting priorities while maintaining effective collaboration and influence.

  • Proficiency in Python and C++ for developing and optimizing production-quality ML systems. Strong grounding in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.

  • Track record of driving ML Engineering projects from start to completion, including conception, problem definition, experimentation, iteration, and finally productization.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • PhD in machine learning, computer science, or robotics vision

  • 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning

  • Experience and growing expertise with ROS, OpenCV, Gazebo, CUDA,or PCL

  • Experience in deploying perception algorithms and models into real-world environments

  • Experience and growing expertise with autonomous driving technologies

The salary range for this position is $161,200 - $237,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
