Senior Marketing Data Analyst

Every month millions of people visit Zoopla searching over 500,000 homes for sale and rent, finding the best agents and securing the latest mortgage deals looking for help on one of the biggest decisions in life where’s my next home going to be? So you can imagine we have quite a lot of data.

We want to help even more people make better decisions in their property decisions, and that’s why we care so much about Marketing. You will be responsible for data and analytics for our marketing team. Embedded alongside consumer brand, performance and customer marketing and working alongside Marketing leadership, your role will be to manage data points (from many sources) and insight to lead our decision-making around marketing initiatives and investment.

Responsibilities

  • Taking full ownership of the data relationship with the Marketing team, delivering timely insights to support decision-making.
  • Reporting on our baseline performance and trends - we are a data-driven team and always need to keep our finger on the pulse.
  • Partnering with our ATL media agency, brand tracker agency and media mix modelling partner to define and hone Zoopla’s approach to understanding marketing ROI.
  • Ideating ways to improve our understanding of our marketing mix and performance, such as refining our econometrics, working out new ways to cluster audiences for experimentation, developing our approach to incrementality, or looking at creative performance.
  • You will also assist with varied work across data disciplines such as dashboarding, business unit level deep dives and data sprints, supporting wider machine learning projects and techniques, etc.
  • Embolden stakeholders to ask and answer their questions based on numbers and not just gut.
  • Close analyst-stakeholder relationships are arguably the most important piece of a well-functioning data team, Marketing should see you as part of their team.

Technical Skills

Essential

  • Proficient in SQL with a proven track record of handling complex data queries and manipulation
  • Demonstrable experience with Tableau or similar data visualisation tools, including the ability to create insightful and user-friendly dashboards and reports

Desirable

  • Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) or similar data transformation technologies, with a keen understanding of data modelling and ETL processes
  • A background in statistics and/or programming, with the ability to apply statistical methods and algorithms to extract insights from data
  • Familiarity with machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, preferably in Python, R, or another programming language, enabling the development and implementation of predictive models and data-driven solutions
