The Opportunity

Senior Business Data Architect holds a crucial role within the Data & Analytics Strategy and Innovation function, steering the development and implementation of holistic data strategies to underpin the organization’s business operations and decision-making endeavors. This role synthesizes comprehensive, efficient, and scalable data architectures, ensuring they align seamlessly with the business strategy and operational requirements.

Your key responsibilities:

You will be part of diverse teams of professionals across different geographies to deliver a wide range of data and analytics services. You will be solving complex issues and driving growth across the Enterprise Data & Analytics function.

Specifically:

  • Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of the organization's business data architecture, ensuring robust, sustainable, and scalable data infrastructures.
  • Direct collaborations with data management and technology teams, implementing impactful data strategies and solutions that align with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee and establish data-related standards, guidelines, and best practices to safeguard and elevate the quality and integrity of data assets.
  • Head the selection and implementation of optimal database designs and data warehousing strategies to meet the dynamic needs of the business.
  • Spearhead innovation initiatives, overseeing the execution of POCs and pilots to authenticate new opportunities and technologies, ensuring they are viable and beneficial.
  • Collaborate with the Business Data Architect Lead and key stakeholders, ensuring strategic and operational alignment of the data architecture with the overarching data and analytics strategy.
  • Maintain abreast of the latest advancements and trends within the field of data architecture, strategically integrating relevant innovations into the organization's data strategy.
  • Ensure alignment between Enterprise Architecture and other relevant functions to uphold enterprise strategy and conform to industry best practices.
  • Participate in the vendor and solution selection process, contributing to the evaluation of technologies and partners to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards. Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Request for Proposals (RFPs), applying a good understanding of both technical and business requirements.
  • Contribute to program cost and timeline estimation, assisting in accurate forecasting and efficient allocation of resources. Support the development and maintenance of a technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the organization.

 

 

 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • At least 12 years of experience in data architecture, specifically designing, and implementing large scale data and analytics initiatives, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Has worked as a distinguished architect in other large financial services organization with strong domain knowledge of Financial and Insurance sectors.
  • Experience with Cloud transformation and implemented various cloud migration strategies such as Rehost, Re-platform, Repurchase, Refactor / Re-architect, Retire, and Retain.
  • Solid solutioning and/or delivery background in Business intelligence & Analytics including experience of providing architectural direction for solutions.
  • Strong experience in data lifecycle management, data governance, and data security, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity, compliance, and protection against threats while promoting responsible data usage across the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modeling (Data Vault 2.0, 3NF, Dimensional Model) and structured and unstructured data formats.
  • Strong experience architecting data lake, data lake house, data warehouse, data mesh, and operational data stores.
  • Experience architecting data as a product and data marketplace.
  • Experience in infrastructure management, cloud platform integration, application integration, and Software as a Service (SaaS) solution integration, ensuring seamless interoperability and scalability to meet the organization's evolving needs.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS and their data and analytics and integration services offered.
  • Experience in data storage (ADL/S3) and big data processing (Kafka, Hive, Databricks, etc.)
  • Proficiency in data engineering frameworks and tools and experience with containerization and orchestration.
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT, data acquisition and ingestion, data integration, and CDC tools such as Informatica, Talend, CloverDX, DBT, Qlik Replicate or others.
  • Experience in data management, data governance, data visualization tools such as Alation, Collibra, Atlan, PowerBI, and Tableau.
  • Proficiency in database systems such as SQLServer, Oracle, Graph, Vector, Snowflake, Databricks, and NoSQL DB like DynamoDB, MongoDB, DocumentDB, and Cassandra.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, innovations, and advancements in the field of data architecture and data and analytics.
  • Experience architecting solutions for AI/ML, GenAI, Large language Models, NLP/NLU, Data Science & Advanced Analytics.
  • Experience in customer 360, MDM and personalization and tools like IBM MDM, Semarchy, Reltio, Salesforce Data Cloud.
  • Experience with Digital products (Salesforce, Adobe, and related, Mobile, IVR, Contact Center)
  • Experience with architecture frameworks like TOGAF, Zachman.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solution Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, The Open Group TOGAF 9 Certification, or The Open Group TOGAF 9 Certification.
  • Ability to perform hand-on proof-of-concept or proof-of-technology activities.
  • A track record of exceptional partnering across a various internal business groups, executive stakeholders, and execution partners with ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient in Agile-based development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban for collaborating, developing, and delivering data solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
