About the role:

As a Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of well log data, directly impacting the ability of technical teams to make informed, data-driven decisions. In this role, you will be key to maintaining high-quality datasets that support geologists and petrophysicists in their analysis, helping them optimize workflows and enhance decision-making processes.

Based in Houston, you’ll work closely with the energy industry, delivering expert data management services to help our clients reduce costs and improve efficiency. Your expertise in subsurface data and well log applications will allow you to build, maintain, and verify the integrity of critical data within systems like Techlog, Petrel, and other Systems of Record.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about data quality and understands the importance of reliable, trustworthy datasets in driving successful project outcomes. By ensuring that accurate data is accessible to technical staff, you will play a crucial role in the success of our clients' projects.

Requirements

  • Experience loading LWD, wireline, image logs, mud logs, core, directional surveys, and other relevant well data types to Techlog;
  • Experience loading and managing global well log data in Petrel Projects and Petrel Studio;
  • Domain knowledge of log data management processes;
  • Ability to ensure consistency of well data between Petrel and Techlog;
  • Able to manage existing data in Techlog repositories and/or Techlog for Studio;
  • Ability to work with Geologists and Petrophysicist to understand their data needs and coach them on good data management practices:
  • Track record of continuous improvement efforts in data quality;
  • Leveraging existing standards, recommending improvement and document of processes;
  • Familiar working with Agile processes (Azure Dev Ops and Kanban).

Desired Skills

  • Experience as a petrophysics or LWD engineer would be advantageous;
  • Familiarity of a geologists’ use of Petrel and a petrophysicists’ use of Techlog;
  • Experience with various systems of record;
  • Understanding the principles and practices involved in the development and maintenance of Data Management solutions;
  • Capability with Power BI, Python and Power Automate.
  • Understanding and use of different database structures.
