Software Engineer Analyst - Fullstack (Backend)

Role Summary

Software Engineer - Fullstack (Back-end) (Multi-year Contract opportunity)

Description:
The ICC and Global Group Innovation projects are pushing the limits of backend infrastructure for a range of purposes, including developing scalable machine learning infrastructure as well as scaling realtime mobility services to millions of clients. To support this, the ICC is adding backend developers to build and evolve these capabilities and ultimately help with the transition to production within Volkswagen Group brands. Backend developers appropriate for this role will be driven self-starters and have experience with some/all of the following tools/environments/techniques.

This role allows the IECC to keep a finger on the pulse of the Silicon Valley. This role impacts multiple Software Platforms initiatives through the presentation of ideas, definition of new experiences, building of prototypes to validate ideas; and when successful, its productization. This role leads and influences interdisciplinary teams which might include mobile engineers, backend engineers, industrial designers, graphic artists, mechatronics engineers, psychologists, and workshop technicians.

Role Responsibilities:
• Investigate and develop technical concepts and solutions for new generation of connected and autonomous vehicle services
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud services and distributed systems, with particular attention to RESTful interfaces, microservice architectures, and potential for scalability
• Maintain coding standards through writing unit/integration tests and active participation in code reviews
• Out-of-the-box thinking by adding to the existing infotainment ecosystem


Qualifications

 

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years of related experience
• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field with1-3 years' experience


Required Skills:
• Experience developing scalable, robust, secure software in public clouds (AWS, Azure), including managed and unmanaged services as well as key APIs and frameworks
• Proficiency with relevant programming languages and paradigms (Java, Python, Scala, Golang, OOP, functional programming, SQL and NoSQL databases, concurrency, sharding, etc.)
• Experience with container-based development and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with key CI/CD principles and technologies
• Mastery of key development tools such as git, and familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence or similar
• Scoping work, with focus ranging from rapid prototyping to production readiness.

  •       Readiness for international business trips to visit Audi AG, Volkswagen AG, Porsche AG.
  • Flexibility to travel within US, Europe and China.

 

In Belmont, California, the salary range for this role is $90000 - $120000, depending on education and experience.
