Summary:     

 

The Child Mind Institute is seeking a Data Analyst to fill a one-year grant funded position supporting a project focused on intergenerational experiences of mental health. The candidate will assist with designing surveys aimed at understanding generational differences in mental health, coordinating data collection, and analyzing the data collected using a range of methods. With interpersonal and organizational skills, this candidate should have strong data management, data analysis, interpretation, and documentation skills. This position will regularly involve collaboration with other groups both within and beyond the Child Mind Institute. The Child Mind Institute fosters a collaborative environment where the Data Analyst will have the opportunity to gain excellent experience with applied research, with the potential for publication.

 

Reporting to the Director of Research Operations and Implementation this is an exempt full time, hybrid (minimum 3 days in office) position located in our NYC headquarters office.

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform basic and advanced univariate and multivariate statistical analyses for projects and reports
  • Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
  • Assist with study coordination, literature review, survey development and data collection
  • Assist in preparing data to be shared with research collaborators 
  • Preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and public facing reports
  • Assistance in the supervision junior research staff (e.g., research assistants)
  • Independent and self-directed learning and skill improvement

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, neuroscience, engineering, mathematics, statistics or related areas is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years research experience required
  • Extensive programming experience in one or more open source languages (e.g., Python, R)
  • A passion for the applying computational methods to understand clinical conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and oral communication 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently 
  • Passion for CMI mission

The salary range for the position is posted.
