About the Job
We are an innovative global healthcare company with one purpose: to chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. We’re also a company where you can flourish and grow your career, with countless opportunities to explore, make connections with people, and stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. Ready to get started?

The Cell Science and Technology Department at Sanofi is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join a high-performing, collaborative team focused on optimizing CHO cell line development platforms through bioinformatic efforts and molecular biology techniques. Responsibilities will focus on improving process workflows, expression system components, and CLD methods used to generate recombinant CHO cell lines for production of protein biologics. This will include the design and generation of next generation vector topologies utilizing information gained from RNA-seq and genomic data analysis. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in integrating complex multi-omic datasets and in design of an automated pipeline for vector construction. Work will directly support development projects in Sanofi’s pipeline and will include frequent cross-functional interactions with colleagues in Sanofi’s global CMC sites (US,France).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading computational biology efforts in generating and analyzing omics datasets including genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, etc

  • NGS library prep and analysis from short-read and long-read sequencing platforms

  • Develop, evaluate and implement new molecular biology technologies through automated platforms

  • Generation of vector constructs for expression of candidate biotherapeutic molecules

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate progress and data

  • Represent CLD function with external collaborators, vendors, and cross functional Sanofi colleagues.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD (0-3years) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or related discipline, or Master’s degree in relevant discipline with > 4 years of relevant experience

  • Fluent in R (RStudio, R Shiny, markdown), Python, the Python data science ecosystem (pandas, numpy, and data visualization toolkits), Git, Docker, Unix/Linux and AWS(EC2,S3)

  • Experience in end-to-end analysis of output from DNA-Seq (alignment, variant calling, and variant annotation), bulk RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq, proteomics data sets, and subsequent pathway analysis (e.g. IPA and KEGG).

  • Proficient in managing large datasets and bioinformatic outputs within HPC or cloud computing environment and creating insightful data visualizations. Possess a robust background in statistical methods and have expertise in both supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms

  • Strong technical background and attention to detail

  • Experience leading projects or project sub-teams and/or managing contract research org (CRO) relationships

  • Self-motivated with excellent organization, time-management, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and adhere to timelines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on experience in molecular cloning techniques and/or DNA sequence analysis

  • Mammalian cell culture experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting

  • Genetic characterization method experience (such as ddPCR, qPCR)

  • Experience with automated liquid handlers (Hamilton, etc)

  • Flexibility to adjust to a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment and willingness to expand and broaden skillset.
