What you'll be doing

As a Data Architect you will design and oversee the overall structure, organisation, and integration of data. This is a critical role in ensuring that data is effectively captured, stored, processed, and made accessible to support the Meridian's goals and objectives.

Our data ecosystem transformation is still in a forming stage. In this role you will play a pivotal role in establishing what good looks like for our data destinations, and supporting how we get there while delivering value along the way. You will need to own developing the data architecture roadmap and action plan; working closely with the Meridian and partner stakeholders to deliver a shared understanding of both and, of course, help us get there.

Other accountabilities include:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to all stakeholders on all elements of the data ecosystem – especially data architecture, data models, data integration, data storage, and data governance.
  • Be the owner of the data strategy and architecture roadmap for Meridian
  • Communicate data architecture principles and concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a common understanding of data practices and standards.

What you'll bring

We are looking for someone who has at least 5 years extensive experience in Data Architecture, database design, data modelling, and data management. You will have demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data architecture solutions for complex systems and large-scale data environments. You will be familiar with big data technologies, such as Databricks and distributed computing frameworks, and have knowledge of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and their data services.

You’ll have good grasp of programming skills such as Python and/or SQL. You’ll be an excellent problem-solver, with good documentation skills and keen attention to detail. You will have great communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, business users, and technical teams, and have a constructive and collaborative working style.

It will be big bonus if you have an understanding of the Electricity business domain, and relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Data Architect (CDA), or related credentials are highly desirable.
