  • This is a full-time continuing position with salary in the range $111,154.58 - $124,619.84 (HEW 8), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

About This Opportunity 

The Senior Data Analyst will play a crucial role in the Education Insights and Analysis team, providing data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio. This position will involve designing and implementing innovative data solutions to address key business challenges and contribute to the development of effective interventions across the university.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Data Analysis and Solutions: Apply data solutions to solve business challenges using various analytical techniques. Gather, transform, and analyse UQ systems data to inform strategic decision-making. Develop early intervention strategies for students and evaluate their effectiveness.

  • Research and Collaboration: Support the Learning and Student Experience Roadmap through data analysis and reporting. Identify, assemble, and pre-process data sources. Ensure data accuracy and reliability. Collaborate with stakeholders on research-oriented initiatives, present findings, and influence senior leadership.

  • Data Quality and Management: Maintain data accuracy through rigorous quality control processes.

About You  

Essential

  • Postgraduate qualifications or relevant experience in higher education data analysis, learning analytics, or related fields.

  • Extensive experience in conducting sophisticated data analyses.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on preparing analytical reports and presenting information effectively to diverse audiences. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work productively under pressure.

  • Advanced expertise in analytical tools such as R, Python, Business Objects, Power BI, and NVivo.

Desirable

  • Experience conducting analytical work in the higher education sector.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
