Business Insight Analyst

We’re looking for a brilliant Business Insight Analyst to join our team of colleagues in British Gas Business, that together are setting the standard in energy supply.

Overview of the Role:

Are you ready to transform raw data into strategic gold? As a Business Insights Analyst at BGB Energy Supply! The role is designed to bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights across our ENSEK platform.

You will be setup to deliver high value actionable insight to our operational stakeholders to enable BGB energy Supply to deliver efficient service for our customers. This role will work with but not limited to the operations teams to support developing intelligence that will drive customer satisfaction and improve business efficiencies.

The Role:

The Business Insight Analyst role will include but not necessarily be limited to the following:

  • Extraction, manipulation, and aggregation of large quantities of data using relevant tools such as Power BI, Excel & SQL Server.
  • Analysis of complicated data sets and presenting meaningful outcomes to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Analysis and overlay of financial data onto operational reporting to understand and develop proactive approach to customer service and enhance understanding and trending of our customer portfolio.
  • Use statistical methods to help create forecasts and identify key variables in Business.
  • Ability to incorporate new data sources from a variety of sources and integrating them into new or existing analysis suites.
  • Manage a plan and agree priorities and deadlines whilst maintaining a high quality of work.
  • Use of Microsoft office suite to deliver data driven solutions (SQL/excel/access/vba).

The Person:

This role would suit an enthusiastic individual who is able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to review and shape Business improvement opportunities from Strategic conception through data analysis, modelling, and forecasting.
  • Self-motivated and innovative with knowledge of validation techniques and data visualisation.
  • Being flexible and open to change and managing diverse stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Demonstrate the capability of building strong relationships and networks and identifying the value of those relationships.
  • Emotional resilience and ability to adapt within a fast-moving business.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and show initiative when required to work on own.
  • Ability to create meaningful insight from data and information and identify key activities for operations and the wider business to deploy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and an ability to present complex scenarios clearly and in a non-technical manner.
  • Excellent knowledge of the ENSEK platform.
  • Desirable knowledge of analytical software including SQL server, Power BI.
  • Desirable knowledge of Databricks / Py Spark / Python.
  • Desirable knowledge of HSQL/SQL.
  • Excellent knowledge of software and code to enable the manipulation of data and presentation.
