Senior Data Engineer - Tableau

Must have Skills:

• 3+ years of experience working with Tableau, with a focus on developing and modifying complex dashboards.

• Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and optimize queries.

• Understanding of Tableau performance tuning, dashboard optimization, and server management.

• Familiarity with Tableau APIs and extensions.

• Strong data visualization skills, with a deep understanding of calculated fields, LOD expressions, and data blending.

• Experience of troubleshooting dashboard performance issues and optimizing Tableau queries.

• Knowledge of data modeling and optimizing schemas for fast query performance.

• Experience connecting Tableau to cloud-based databases, particularly AWS Redshift/Snowflake/Synapse

• Ability to reconnect and adjust existing dashboards from existing databases to new modern databases eg.Redshift/Snowflake/Synapse.

Good to Have Skills:

• Familiarity with AWS services such as Redshift Spectrum, S3, or Athena, and how they can interact with Tableau.

• Experience with Tableau Server management, including publishing, scheduling, and user administration.

• Understanding of Tableau Performance Recorder and tabjolt for more advanced performance testing.

• Experience with Python or JavaScript for advanced Tableau integrations, such as embedding dashboards or creating custom visualizations.

• Tableau certifications (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or Tableau Server Certified Associate).

• Understanding of MDX/DAX queries (especially useful if your Tableau reports use OLAP data).
