Inside the Role

Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

The DTNA Data Intelligence Hub builds AI and data analytics solutions that enable our customers to be faster, safer, and more profitable; transforming DTNA into the intelligent company of tomorrow. By leveraging massive amounts of vehicle and automation telematics data, we develop data science solutions to improve our products, streamline manufacturing, and perfect our customers' experience.

In this exciting and challenging role, you will drive the development of innovative new products using advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence. You will leverage multiple enterprise data platforms, high volume data (including IoT), associated tools for data analysis, and code deployment.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is willing to quickly learn and understand new technologies and tools. You will deliver solutions, scale the platform to handle billions of events in near real-time, and set them up for automated support and maintenance.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $30 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Actively work with internal and external customers to analyze business data needs, gather and document business and data architecture requirements
  • Develop data set processes, address business issues with data sets and find hidden patterns using data
  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
  • Prepare data for and deploy sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods
  • Use data to discover tasks that can be automated
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis
  • Undertake cleansing, profiling, validation and aggregation of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and pattern
  • Coordinate with different functional teams e.g. product development and/or engineering to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure systems that connect internal data sets; create new data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Develop rapid prototype proof of concept solutions for viability studies

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last 12 months. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Creative mindset
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment 
  • Experience creating ETL (Extract, Load, Transform) and ELT data pipelines
  • Experience blending relational and time-series data sources for analysis
  • Experience developing quality checks for incoming data packets
  • Experience developing end-to-end data modelling on live data
