Senior Data Engineer (m/f/x) – AWS Data Platform for AI

Your tasks?

• Structure of the Data Platform: Responsibility for building a scalable and secure data platform in the cloud (preferably AWS) as a foundation for future AI solutions using Amazon services.

• IAM integration and safety management: Implementation of identity and access management (IAM) solutions as well as development and maintenance of security and compliance requirements and authorization concepts.

• Data connections and architecture: Designing and optimizing the platform architecture for the seamless connection of various data sources.

• Network and infrastructure management: Planning and implementing network architectures and managing infrastructure to meet operational requirements.

• Infrastructure as code: Use of IaC tools such as Terraform for automated provision and management of the infrastructure as well as optimization of operational processes.

• Radical standardization and integration: Implementing the standardization strategy in the Group by reusing existing solutions and integrating the data platform into existing systems and platforms.

• Operation and maintenance: Taking over the full operation and maintenance of the platform in the sense of "You build it, you run it!", Including monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimization.

• Teamwork: Close cooperation with interdisciplinary teams of data scientists, developers and specialist departments to provide a stable and efficient infrastructure.

• Ensuring platform quality: Ensuring the high quality, safety and integrity of the platform by implementing best practices in infrastructure management and security.

• Continuous improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to the data platform to increase performance, scalability and security.

• Documentation and knowledge transfer: Creation of comprehensive documentation of the developed systems and support of the team in knowledge transfer and training.

Your profile?

• Academic background: You have completed a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business informatics, data science, economics or a comparable qualification.

• Passion for data and cloud infrastructure: You share our enthusiasm for data and use the possibilities of cutting-edge cloud technologies, preferably AWS, to develop a robust and scalable data platform.

• Expertise in data architectures: You'll be interested in modern data architectures and understand the requirements of a scalable AI platform.

• Experience in building up data platforms: You have experience in setting up and operating data platforms, ideally in AWS, including IAM integration, security and compliance requirements, authorization concepts, data connections and platform architecture.

• Technical competence: You have several years of development experience in Python, PySpark, and/or similar technologies.

• Knowledge of infrastructure and safety: You know identity and access management (IAM), security standards and compliance requirements in the cloud.

• Network and operation knowledge: You have in-depth knowledge of network infrastructure and operational processes to ensure smooth integration and operation of the platform.

• Infrastructure as code (IaC): You have experience with IaC tools like Terraform or similar technologies for efficient and repeatable deployment and management of infrastructure.

• Radical standardization and reuse: You rely on radical standardization and reuse of existing solutions to increase efficiency and ensure integration into existing platforms, such as using an existing Kubernetes platform.

• Business understanding: You understand business processes and recognize the added value of a solid data platform for the company.

• Continuous further development: You continue to educate yourself to stay up to date and implement innovative solutions.

• Language skills: You complement our team with excellent written and spoken in German and English.
