About the job

 

Our department plays an important role in Scania’s data strategy to deliver top analytical solutions. We enable and enhance data to empower our employees to perform at their best by providing excellent solutions that increase and secure the right decisions to reach and exceed business goals.

 

You will be a part of a Squad consisting of Data Engineers and a Service Delivery Manager working towards the People and Culture business area. You will be part of a like-minded team that has a passion for working with BI solutions, and together you will create data solutions that bring value to our customers. You will also be involved and contribute to the Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in the organization. We work closely with the business (Business & IT as One) and with various stakeholder groups to gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs.

 

We use scrum methodologies and sprints to follow up our work. Together with the squad, you will be developing high-quality BI solutions. You will develop new data products and work with our existing portfolio as well as documentation and performance adjustments. Our technical platforms are in the cloud and on-premises. The cloud setup is in AWS with Snowflake as a data warehouse, Matillion as our ETL/ELT tool, and PowerBI as a visualization tool. Our legacy on-premises platform with the Scania common data warehouse is Oracle-based with Oracle 19C and Oracle Data Integrator. We are in a transition phase to move away from on-premises into our highly capable cloud platform.

 

Desired Qualificaitons

 

  • 4+ years of experience with DW development and support
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS/Snowflake
  • Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling, data access, and data storage
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
  • Working experience with both low-code and high-code environments for ETL
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Tabular Editor, and other BI/DW tools is meriting
  • Basic understanding of git branching, and the ability to push and pull code to and from a git repository
  • Strong English language skills
  • Good knowledge of requirements collection for reporting applications
  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)

 

These skills are a bonus but not a must:

 

  • Experience in people and culture domains, procurement, or finance
  • Experience and enjoyment of agile methods and DevOps to deliver value continuously
  • An academic degree in computer science or equivalent
