Apple Hardware Engineering R&D Division in Japan is currently seeking an enthusiastic technical major intern to experience work and culture in Apple. We are looking for a self-starter intern, to work with our engineers to develop software systems that utilize LLM to interact with large scale data. This is an exceptional opportunity for students who are passionate about leveraging AI expertise to real-world web-based application.

Description


We are looking for a candidate who: - Will research and develop innovative LLM strategies to solve challenging problems that will impact Apple products. - Have strong programming skills that will prototype your ideas, and eventually develop into a full stack web-based application. - Are self-motivated and excellent problem solver. You will work under guidance and collaborate with engineers in our team. You are quick to build relationships and work well with change and ambiguity. DURATION/TIMING/OTHER - Start timing, as well as, duration is flexible and will be adjusted to study schedule of each selected intern in order not to interfere with ongoing studies and research at the University.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Strong software engineering fundamentals built upon tried experience crafting, prototyping, and delivering scalable solutions.
  • Experience with web front-end development technologies (such as JavaScript, React, Angular, NodeJs, and HTML/CSS)
  • Demonstrate the ability to formulate questions, design and conduct experiments, and communicate findings.
  • Solid understanding of LLM, prompt engineering techniques, and practical experience with different LLM models and frameworks.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team-based environment
  • Should be enrolled in a BS/MS/PhD in computer science, or computing engineering, or related fields during internship period
  • Holding relevant work permit in Japan for the duration of the internship. No immigration support will be available for this internship.
