The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services Team:

RTX has an opening for a Data Architect – SAP S/4 & BW (Associate Director, Business Systems and Transformation) position.

The Data Architect – SAP S/4 & BW Data Expert will focus on managing and optimizing SAP S/4 data structures to support analytics, reporting, and business operations. This individual will guide business teams in identifying, mapping, and utilizing data from SAP S/4 and other sources for various use cases, with a deep understanding of data organization, governance and accessibility. A strong emphasis will be placed on ensuring data security, residency compliance, and governance while maintaining a scalable architecture to meet business demands.

What You Will Do:

Expertise in SAP S/4 Data Structures:

·       Serve as the main point of expertise for understanding and navigating SAP S/4 HANA data structures, covering areas such as Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales.

·       Maintain detailed knowledge of SAP S/4 tables, fields, and relationships to support both current and future data needs for reporting and analytics.

·       Continuously update data architecture documentation to ensure all teams can access and understand how data is stored and managed.

Data Security and Residency Compliance:

·       Ensure that data architecture and workflows comply with data security standards and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, or other relevant global and local data privacy laws.

·       Address data residency requirements by ensuring that sensitive data is stored and processed in compliance with regional and global regulations.

·       Collaborate with the IT security team to implement safeguards for data access, encryption, and user permissions within SAP S/4 and BW systems.

Support for Business Use Cases:

·       Collaborate with business users to understand new data requirements and provide guidance on where and how data can be retrieved from SAP S/4 to support emerging use cases.

·       Assist in translating business needs into technical data requirements, ensuring the right data is made available for reports, dashboards, and advanced analytics.

·       Proactively identify opportunities to optimize data retrieval processes, ensuring that teams can quickly access the data they need.

Optimization of Data Architecture:

·       Ensure SAP S/4 and BW data structures are optimized for performance, minimizing latency and maximizing the efficiency of reporting and analytics.

·       Design and maintain a semantic layer within SAP BW to support business users in generating meaningful insights from both SAP and non-SAP data sources.

·       Work closely with technical teams to optimize ETL processes for better performance and data accessibility.

Collaboration Across Teams:

·       Partner with SAP functional teams, DT Applications, BU DT, Functional  and governance teams to align data architecture with business objectives and ensure best practices are followed.

·       Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring that data structures and accessibility meet business needs while complying with security and governance policies.

·       Lead training and knowledge-sharing sessions to help stakeholders understand data structure, security, and how to leverage data effectively.

Governance and Documentation:

  • Collaborate with the data governance team to establish and enforce policies around data security, data residency, and usage compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of the SAP S/4 and BW data architecture, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.
  •   Ensure that data quality is maintained by implementing governance practices that prevent data duplication, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies.

Qualifications You Must Have:

·       Typically 12+ years’ of experience in data architecture or related area and a bachelor’s in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of related work and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10+ years’ related work.

·       10+ years’ expertise in SAP, S/4 and SAP BW.

·       10+ years’ deep understanding of data security, data residency, and regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

Qualifications We Prefer:

·       Proven track record of managing complex data architectures and supporting business use cases in large ERP environments.

·       Strong knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA data structures, including tables, fields, and relationships across functional areas including familiarity with advanced analytics tools and how they interact with SAP data structures.

·       Proficiency in data security principles, encryption, and compliance with data residency regulations.

·       Hands-on experience with ETL processes and optimizing SAP BW for reporting and analytics.

·       SAP certifications, particularly in SAP S/4 HANA data architecture or security-related fields.

·       Experience in managing large-scale SAP implementations, including BW integration.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
