In order to support the Electronic Surveillance, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an

Intern within Preparation of Open-source Radio Frequency Data Sets for AI Training (d/f/m)

• Duration: 3 - 6 months

Our department develops Radio Signal Intelligence solutions that include Emitter Localization, Spectrum Monitoring, Signal Classification and more. Our tasks range from SW/HW development to algorithm development, AI and systems engineering.

To train and test AI based classifiers for Radio frequency (RF) signals, a large set of test data is needed. In addition to synthetically created RF test data, we want to use existing open-source RF data sets on the internet. If available, these RF data sets must be labelled and enriched to make it available for AI training and testing.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Familiarize with IQ data, EW Data Services, and tools for Web develop.

• Identify open-source RF data sets that are (technically and legally) eligible for AI training.

• Develop an application that extracts, labels and enriches open source RF data to be stored in SigMF standard

• Integrate the application into an existing IQ Data Management software solution

• Evaluate the results and document your work  

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) within Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering / Simulation / Modelling / Automation / Mathematics or similar field of study

• Phyton, Java script

• Signal Processing, Radio Communication

• English, German (optional)
