Accelerating ML computation demands the perfect balance between computation, memory, and communication. The Sambanova RDU processor exposes hardware as a sea of computing & memory units that are seamlessly reconfigurable by our dataflow compiler to achieve the perfect balance that maximizes a network’s performance. To maximize overall system performance is a cross-stack HW/SW co-design problem with advanced simulation technologies at its center. Compiler decisions and optimizations, a deep understanding of pipelined hardware, as well as research and development in cutting-edge simulator technology are needed to be able to pinpoint performance bottlenecks and maximize overall performance in current and future system generations. 

We are looking for brilliant software engineers with deep system software knowledge, a passion for the hardware-software interface, and the desire and growth mindset to build on their core competence and learn new disciplines. You will be part of a world-class team and the performance leader in today’s machine learning and high-performance computing race. 

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the usability and performance of the simulation infrastructure used to optimize the performance of current systems and define next-generation systems
• Develop and implement highly-parallel runtime systems for running, testing, and analyzing overall system performance
• Develop high-level and detailed models of hardware and system behavior
• Develop infrastructure and tests for functional verification, performance correlation, and simulation performance
• Develop a deep understanding of the hardware and software stacks
• Develop complementary skills to what you already know

Skills and Qualifications

• No more than 2 years of full time relevant work experience
• Proficient in C, C++, and Python
• Ability to debug complex functional and performance problems
• Familiarity with distributed memory and compute systems
• Knowledge of computer architecture, pipelining, and hardware performance
