Overview

Deutsche Bank has set for itself ambitious goals in the areas of Sustainable Finance, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) Risk Mitigation as well as Corporate Sustainability. As Climate Change throws new Challenges and opportunities, the Bank has set out to invest in developing a Sustainability Technology Platform, Sustainability data products and various sustainability applications which will aid in achieving Bank’s ESG goals. As Software Engineer in our team, you will partner with sustainability technology and data consumers to build and maintain robust and resilient services and data pipelines as part of strategic platform development. You will partner with the Bank-wide groups to enable and drive adoption of ESG strategic data platform. What You’ll Do

  • Implement and refine cloud future state architectures and roadmaps including architecture standards, guidelines, and industry best practices to enable Cloud technology adoption as per technology vision and strategy

  • Design, build, manage and optimize cloud native distributed backend services, data pipelines and data storage solution using Spring Boot, Spark Streaming, Kafka, MongoDB, Cloud SQL, GCS, and Big Query while implementing data security and access controls using GCP's Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Cloud Security Command Center

  • Build monitoring of production cloud services and processing using standard monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus / New Relic, Splunk, Stack Driver)

  • Collaborate with data experts, analysts, and product teams to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions

  • Participate in regular agile processes for SDLC, code reviews and contribute to establishing best practices for engineering and stay up to date on the latest advancements and innovations in relevant technologies

Skills You’ll Need

  • Experience with technical architecture and software design, designing and implementing distributed enterprise applications with Microservices using Java/Scala/Kotlin (preferred Spring-boot framework), and with the design and implementation of API’s – REST Services, Open API’s

  • Experience with at least one storage technology (e.g., Oracle/Postgres, MongoDB, Google Cloud Storage/Big Query) and knowledge of container runtime environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and implementing applications onto Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform)

  • Experience in Big Data technologies with hands-on experience using Hadoop, Kafka, Apache Spark, Hive, Impala (Google Cloud Storage & Big Query is plus)

  • Experience developing software using Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) practices and implementing automated testing approaches including unit and system level tests

  • Experience with Agile software development frameworks and CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), IaC (e.g., Terraform) and delivering full deployment lifecycle automation, designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $85,000 to $120,750. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
