SUMMARY

The Junior Financial Data Analyst will be responsible for the execution of the Region’s Financial Data Analysis process.  The position will work closely with all aspects of regional finance and accounting resources to implement sound practices around budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, monthly/quarterly reporting, and will also interact with other functions within the organization (accounting, sales, operations, technology, M&A, legal) to enhance the data capabilities of the overall larger regional finance team and to ensure completeness and accuracy of the reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the planning, development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of data and analytics needs for the business's regional financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis processes.
  • Track and report monthly revenue and expense performance, including identifying statistical variances through data analytics and queries.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial reports by managing data uploads, pulls, and maintaining system interface files, templates, and custom dashboards.
  • Analyze, interpret, and explain year-over-year variations in actual or projected financial results using data-driven analytic queries.
  • Manage financial metrics for supported locations, including C&F roll forwards, headcount analysis, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor headcount, new hire budgets, open positions, and report trends and forecasts to finance leaders.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate FP&A team to implement changes to the reporting structure.
  • Support acquisition accounting, including due diligence and earn-out analysis.
  • Assist with system conversions for acquisitions to integrate them into the platform.
  • Facilitate data reporting changes resulting from acquisitions.
  • Contribute to various regional accounting and finance initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a focus in Finance or Accounting being a plus.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and software is preferred.
  • Insurance brokerage experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • Experience handling large data sets is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally present financial information to finance leadership.
  • Proven ability to learn the business and adopt a business- and customer-centric approach to finance and accounting leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify and evaluate complex business problems, offering well-thought-out solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in employee engagement and performance management.
  • Must possess personal and business integrity, with an energetic, positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Well-organized, self-starter with the ability to analyze problems, develop a clear solution plan, and deliver results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience with tools such as Excel macros, Power Pivot, Power Query, or programming languages like Python for working with financial data is preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $50,000 – $70,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
