Data Analyst

Your role

 

The Corrections Intelligence Group (CIG) provides high level intelligence support to Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) stakeholders and various law enforcement agencies. Intelligence products disseminated by the CIG assist with decision making processes around the management of offenders in custody and under community corrections supervision.

 

The Data Analyst will be required to Establish, maintain, develop and manage statistical data series pertaining to key operational areas of intelligence to support correctional and community operations, performance and outcomes. 

 

You will support the unit in providing timely and accurate analysis of statistical data by developing reporting systems and maintaining dada dashboards as well as responding to data requests from within the agency in a timely manner.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competition priorities
  • Maintain professional relationships with key operations areas
  • Work autonomously and also within a team environment when required
  • Experience with extraction, management, manipulation and reporting of statistical data using software such as SQL, SPSS, SAS, Excel and MS Access
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to effectively communicate findings and insights
