1. Regular tasks:

 

  • As a Data Analyst in the Procurement department, you will be responsible for analysing and interpreting data to support decision-making processes that optimize sourcing, supplier relationships, process management, and cost control.
  • You will work closely with the procurement team, providing insights that help improve supply chain efficiency and support the wider business objectives.
  • This role involves a mix of technical data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders across the business..
  • You will support the Procurement department by creating, developing and deploying KPIs, and regularly updating these metrics on a defined timescale.
  • You will use your own initiative to create solutions to problems, exercising knowledge of systems and large datasets to develop meaningful insights.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring process documents are up to date, reflective of the current ways of working, and are as efficient as possible.

 

Occasional tasks:

 

  • Support the management team in ad-hoc data requests, presentations or administrative issues.
  • Run RFPs for specific indirect work packages that could improve the operational capabilities of the department.
  • Support auditors in assessing the team and closing any highlighted actions.

 

2. Responsibilities:

 

  • Collect, clean, and analyse procurement data (e.g., supplier performance, purchasing costs, lead times) to provide actionable insights. Use data to identify trends, and areas for cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and regular reports on procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, delivery timelines, and sourcing efficiency.
  • Track key supplier performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, quality and compliance. Provide data-driven insights to support supplier evaluations and improvement initiatives.
  • Identify procurement-related risks (e.g., supplier reliability, geopolitical risks, and pricing volatility) using data analysis and propose mitigation strategies to the procurement leadership.
  • Identify inefficiencies in procurement processes and implement data-backed recommendations for process improvements that enhance the speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of activities
  • Analyse market trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activities to support procurement strategies. Conduct supplier benchmarking to identify potential new suppliers or validate existing partnerships.

 

3. Required skills and competencies:
