Job Summary

The Senior Director of Data Engineering will be responsible for providing the services and technical capabilities to support broad data engineering requirements to support the business. This role will be a senior leader within the organization that must effectively work across operational, customer and vendor partners to effectively plan, execute and deliver data services across customer integrations, EDI integrations, and reporting/analytics. The Senior Director of Data Engineering reports to the CTO.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop vision and execute plans to effectively move our organization from where they stand today to desired future state.
  • Partner with the business and technical teams to develop a roadmap for implementing technical capabilities to service a rapidly growing business.
  • Design, develop and maintain all data engineering requirements of the organization while working to continually improve on reliability, accuracy and performance of data pipelines.
  • Implement technical tooling relevant to support data engineering needs, including ETL platforms, EDI capabilities and others as identified/needed.
  • Perform as an individual contributor as well as a leader within the organization.
  • Quickly assess, learn, and support key data processes within the organization, including but not limited to: customer integrations and reporting needs.
  • Support end users / stakeholders that are data customers, reacting to urgent issues and collaborating on planned project work.
  • Continuously work to update knowledge / capabilities of the team and the organization through self-learning, research and professional development.
  • Responsible for welcoming and engaging new team members through direct hire and acquisitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain quality work that exemplifies and promotes Flores’ core values.
Requirements

Who You Are 

  • 10+ years of overall Data Management / Engineering experience including a minimum of 6 years in leadership roles.
  • 10+ Years administering SQL databases.
  • 10+ Years implementing reporting / BI solutions.
  • 10+ Years implementing ETL technologies and related business workflows.
  • A graduate of a bachelor’s degree program preferably a degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent will be considered.
  • A self-driven, inquisitive, and tenacious individual, capable of understanding and improving upon complex existing platforms.
  • Someone who can successfully lead a team with excellent communication skills and business sense.
  • An individual who has the ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.
  • An individual that understands the value of providing a high level of customer service.

Work Environment 

Flores’ standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET with an hour lunch. Roles may be approved for other schedules by managers. This role operates in a professional #LI-remote office environment. To be considered for this role, you must reside in one of the following states —AZ, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, ME, MI, MO, NC, NV, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV. This role is mostly sedentary and consists of prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This role also utilizes other tools such as a phone, copy machine, and printer. Common programs often used are Outlook, Word, and Excel. This position frequently communicates with Flores team members and candidates and must be able to exchange accurate information clearly in these situations.
