They are enabled by Shared Services teams that have a large portfolio of responsibilities. As a Technical Lead, AI Platforms, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Zurich’s AI platform capabilities.  

 

Working closely with the AI Platform Owner, Product Owners, Chapter Leads, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Architects, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions.  

 

You will ensure that our AI platform meets business requirements, scales with demand, and remains future-proof in an ever-evolving landscape. 

 

You will also be responsible for:  

 

  • Ensure the team builds & leverages automation effectively across our end-to-end delivery processes and the solutions offered to our business. 

  • Lead the team to embed software engineering best practices like code reviews, unit testing, performance testing, security, design patterns and object-oriented programming. 

  • Uplift engineering and DevOps practices to aim for smooth production releases with high quality, speed & stability. 

  • Use engineering health metrics to help continuously improve team’s delivery maturity. 

  • Be a change agent and advocate for emerging Engineering best practices. 

  • Representing the squad in Scrum of Scrums as the technology and delivery SME. 

  • Responsible for ensuring agile ceremonies (daily scrums, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review/showcase, and sprint retro are happening and ensuring the “self-organising” team over time 

 

Important to your success - let's grow together    

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (preferred)  

  • Experience leading teams (squads)  

  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Architect in AI/ML platform development (desirable)  

  • Strong background in AI/ML technologies, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and modern data infrastructure. 

  • Expertise in designing and implementing large-scale AI/ML platforms (desirable), with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. 

  • Proficient in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), data processing tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices  

  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data lakes, and data pipelines

  • Experience of working in flat, adaptive and collaborative delivery environments i.e. an Agile environment 

  • Familiarity or working experience with AI and machine learning development processes and challenges is desirable.
