Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST

Job Profile Summary 

​This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure.  In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Analytics related duties: Performs complex data research and analysis to support business operations, creates data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets, researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions, and may conduct scientific research projects with the goal of breaking new ground in data analytics.    A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs.  The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education.   A senior level role that requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.  Typically responsible for: managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision, coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals, resolving difficult and sometimes complex problems. 

 

Job Overview 

This position will manage, analyze and report on data related to assigned area. Consult with key stakeholders and may act as lead on projects requiring data derived from multiple internal or external sources, to improve processes and outcomes of care and maintain compliance with external regulatory agencies.  The position supports analytics and data management across multiple systems to create actionable data output through various software solutions.   

 

Job Description 

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in health or analytics-related field. 

2. Two (2) years of healthcare experience performing statistical analyses. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Experience with general programming languages. 

2. Experience with hospital systems. 

3. Experience with EPIC. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 

 

1. Provides consultation, design, and development services on Infection Prevention related projects requiring data collection and presentation, reports, and other specialized documents for clinical quality improvement and regulatory compliance. 

2. Translates analytical findings into easy to follow recommendations and summaries. 

3. Develops queries and analytical tools for use in quality improvement and decision support.  

4. Facilitates project teams and manages complex projects by creating and managing work plans and timelines 

5. Supports inter-disciplinary teams working on high value projects 

6. Analyzes complex quality datasets using spreadsheets and statistical software 

7. Utilizes data from internal electronic medical records systems and third party electronic systems such as NHSN and Vizient to provide actionable data through analytical reports. 

8. Automates the analysis, design, formatting, production and management of reports.  Develops and trains staff in gaining insights from reporting applications. 

9. Develops and tracking project milestones, performance measures and dashboards 

10. Designs and trains staff in the use of office productivity tools to increase productivity. 

11. Fosters an environment of motivated learning and problem solving through analytics.

Skills & Abilities: 

1. Excellent oral and written communications skills. 

2. Ability to prioritize, plan work and function in a fast-paced, multi-project environment and under deadline pressure to multiple stakeholders. 

3. Excellent communicator, escalates appropriately to keep leaders informed 

4. Ability to use query software for accessing and retrieving data from a T-SQL database, and spreadsheet tools for creating, analyzing and managing large data stores. Comprehends complexities of data architecture. 

5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Knowledge of macros, pivot tables, query design, and other techniques for automating tasks and increasing productivity. 

6. Skilled in data visualization software.

7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also as a strong team member. Comfortable in a matrix reporting structure. 

8. Knowledge of medical/clinical terminology.
