Senior Data Engineer

What are we looking for?

Are you a highly skilled hands-on Data Engineer with strong communication and problem-solving skills? This position offers the unique opportunity to develop and apply your expertise in data engineering to build data products delivering measurable impact to business.

You should have demonstrated ability to transform and make sense out of large, integrated datasets, and preferably build statistical and machine learning models on top of these data sets. For this role it is crucial to have prior hands-on experience with python, spark and deploying data solutions to production in collaboration with other data and software engineers. Furthermore, you must have demonstrated experience in initiating and driving data products in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:

As a Senior Data engineer, you will participate in data product development with strong support from fellow dedicated team members, to influence business decisions and drive digital transformation at one of the largest companies in the world.

Your responsibilities will be to:

- Design, develop, implement and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance data architectures and data pipelines using python, Spark and other relevant technologies that meets business requirements.

- Perform data analysis, data cleaning, and data quality assurance. Ensure delivery quality and build scalable & reusable frameworks.

- Build data products for actionable recommendation and quantify impact from data products.

- Optimize data pipelines for performance, efficiency and maintainability.

- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies. Continuously seek opportunities to improve existing processes and solutions.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers. Advocate for best practices in software development and architecture.

- Assist in driving business processes that are supported by analytics. Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements.

- Collaborate with senior data scientists to develop and deploy statistical and machine learning models for various applications.

- Engage with senior business stakeholders to ensure aligned roadmaps and commitment

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has:

- A technical background with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or computer science with experience in data analysis. Master’s degree is preferable.

- 10+ years of experience in data engineering

- An analytical mindset with strong proficiency in Python, Spark and cloud technologies (ideally Azure) is a must.

- Experience in creating robust and scalable batch and real-time data pipelines. Experience measuring and driving data quality and integrity.

- Experience with managing large amounts of data and performance tuning. Knowledge of data privacy, governance and security policies.

- Experience building & deploying statistical/AIML models is a plus.

- Proficiency in SQL and data management/modelling.

- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and front-end technologies like React is a plus.

- Experience working in an agile development environment and exposure on CI/CD pipelines.

- Experience collaborating with product managers to define data-driven product features.

- Drive data-driven product innovation and experimentation. Have passion and experience understanding business processes and mining opportunities through data analysis.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a must.
