The Role: 

SAP is PZC’s ERP system, on a single global instance. The core components are ECC6, BW (7.5) on HANA and SCM (7.0) on HANA. This solution covers most of the core end-to-end business processes including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report and Forecast to Stock.

We also have applications that sit outside of SAP that have an interface into the solution. These include Trade Promotions and Distributor Management systems, plus many smaller applications in our regional markets.

SAP BW on HANA underpins the delivery of a number of key, operational reports built on Analysis for Office. It also incorporates Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), on which PZC performs Commercial and Financial Planning. Additionally, PZC are looking to deliver BW data into an external Data and Analytics platform built on Microsoft Fabric and using the Open Hub connection.

This is an exciting time to join PZC as we embark on several strategic projects at the next stage of our transformational journey. In particular, the members of the SAP team will have the opportunity to shape the S4 HANA roadmap from its inception. This job will play a key, bridging role between these ERP areas and the wider Data & Analytics initiatives. PZC see these as key to our future success.

Accountabilities: 

• Own and manage reporting and analytics solutions for all SAP BW business areas
• Coordinate, prioritise and manage project and change delivery into SAP BW across the end-to-end process. Manage requirements gathering, design, build, testing and cutover, ensuring high quality throughout.
• Work closely with the Data & Analytics team to drive compliant and optimised SAP data integration with the data lake in Microsoft Fabric.
• Communicate effectively and influentially with SAP and other providers on the direction of travel with the product set, including licencing considerations.
• Play an active and influential role as the BW expert within the longer term SAP (S4 HANA / Datasphere) roadmap initiatives, taking into account the strategic direction of the business and the latest developments in the marketplace

Key Skills & Qualifications : 

• Significant SAP BI/BW configuration and support experience (minimum of 5 years)
• Ability to design and build custom data models in BW on HANA
• Experience in leading the preparation of test scenarios in the BW area
• Experience in documenting and embedding high quality documentation related to BW deliverables
• Ability to communicate technical and / or complex ideas to a non-technical audience
• Experience in working across a Data & Analytics platform comprising of SAP BW and non-SAP (ideally Microsoft) data lake technologies and using integrations built on the SAP Open Hub connector
• Functional ECC knowledge from an extractor perspective
• Experience of ETL from SAP and Non-SAP data sources
• ABAP (to an adequate BW level)
• Planning and organisational skills, and strong stakeholder management
