What You’ll Be Doing

 You’ll be joining CIBC’s Application Engineering & Shared Services team as a Sr. Consultant, Application Development (Generative AI) developing applications for use cases such as chatbots, RAGs, and code generation custom solutions.  

 You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in AI, successfully delivering enterprise-scale projects involving multiple systems. You’ll lead the development, technical planning, and integration of these applications, focusing on AI & Generative AI systems engineering development.

How you'll succeed 

• Design and Planning - Create or contribute to the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions. Ability to interpret software designs and translate into code.  

• Development  / Engineering – Develop and deploy Generative AI-based systems using Python. Adhere to coding standards, best practices, Object-Oriented Programming principles, and common design patterns. Refactor existing codebases to improve performance and maintainability. Translate business requirements into robust and scalable AI solutions. Experience working with and building applications within OCP (OpenShift Container Platform) and Azure environments. Working with various Large Language Models (LLMs) and integrating them with other applications, including databases, data processing tools, existing banking applications, or other generative AI technologies. Employ AI frameworks such as Pytorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or FastAI. Apply NLP concepts and basic data science principles to solve problems. Create data visualizations as required for application insights. 

• Relationship skills - Act as a Generative AI development professional and collaborate in code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving. Work within an Agile environment, contributing to stand-ups and sprints. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 

Who you are 

• You can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years+ experience in:  

• designing, programming, implementing, and supporting Python development tasks for Generative AI and AI development.  

• Strong understanding of coding standards, OOP principles, and design patterns. Python, Java programming skills are required. Golang and other languages are an asset.  

• Experience in building and deploying applications on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Kubernetes, and Azure.  

• Very experienced with LLMs, their associated APIs, and development of AI based systems. 

• Experience with prompt engineering and common principles to manage and use prompts effectively.  

• Hands on experience with AI frameworks like Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow.  

• Experience developing NLP and Data Science related assets in Python.  

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.  

• Education Qualifications:  Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, Software Development or related field. It is an asset if you have certifications in AI, Machine Learning, or Cloud Computing. It is an asset if you have experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practice. Contributions to open-source AI projects or publications in the field are also an asset / nice to have.
