Job Description

We’re searching for an Engineering Manager: Data Products & Business Intelligence to lead our talented team of Analytics Engineers and BI Developers, driving data innovation and enhancing patient care in Australia and the UK.

About the Role:

As the Engineering Manager for Data Products & Business Intelligence, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare by leveraging data to improve patient outcomes. You'll be responsible for leading the development of cutting-edge data products, scaling efficient architectures, and ensuring seamless enterprise reporting. You’ll oversee sprints, manage cross-functional integration, and build a high-performing team that is passionate about making a difference. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive Data Product Strategy: Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to align data products with business goals and patient needs.
  • Architect Scalable Solutions: Lead the design of robust, fault-tolerant architectures that can handle large datasets while meeting performance targets.
  • Build & Lead a World-Class Team: Manage and mentor a team of analytics engineers and BI developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and success.
  • Sprint Management: Ensure timely project delivery through effective sprint planning, task allocation, and tracking. Remove blockers to keep your team on track.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure seamless integration of data products across platforms.
  • Optimize Data Pipelines: Continuously monitor and improve data pipelines for efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Drive innovation by staying on top of trends in analytics, machine learning, and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure Data Governance: Implement best practices in data governance to maintain data quality and integrity.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, mentor talent, and manage projects to success.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in data modeling, Business Intelligence, and data management. You’ve led data product initiatives in complex, data-driven organisations.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with data platforms like BigQuery, Snowflake, Looker, Tableau, and managing BI platforms. Deep understanding of data architecture and lifecycle management.
  • Collaboration & Communication: You excel at working cross-functionally and can communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovative & Forward-Thinking: You’re always looking to adopt new technologies and approaches to stay competitive and drive continuous improvement.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
