TV Data Architect

What you’ll do

As a part of the architecture team, which is responsible for Vodafone TV solution design, the role holder is expected to be an active contributor to the evolution of the architectural ecosystem of Vodafone TV. Actively collaborates with engineering and operational teams to design and deliver solutions to enhance VTV product offering & user experience. Ensures that the best technologies and industry trends are incorporated into architectural designs. 

• Define and deliver the architectural roadmap of Vodafone TV 
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions 
• Conduct technical feasibility studies and perform cost analysis 
• Engage cross-functionally with engineering, data science/analysts, product, and security to deliver best-in-class data solutions and to achieve/deliver business goals

Who you are

Minimum qualifications: 

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field 
• 5+ years of experience in TV/streaming industry 
• Profound knowledge of relevant streaming technologies (e.g. DASH, HLS, DRM systems, etc.) 
• Confidence working with distributed and external development teams, using Agile /SAFE methodology 
• Solid understanding of software development principles and best practices 
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in multiple stakeholder environments 

Preferred qualifications: 

• Knowledge of Android OS and Android TV 
• Smart TVs and media players 
• Experience and professional certification in cloud technology like AWS 
• Data Lake, analytics solutions, ETL processes, etc 
• Data modeling and relational database design  
• Big data systems like Hadoop, Spark, Elasticsearch, etc
• Strong Experience in REST API specification/design/development 
• Development experience (JavaScript, Java, Node.js, etc)
