Your Job

As a Data Scientist, you will join a growing team based in Sofia performing and supporting Device Engineering in the Central Research and Development (CRD) organization. You will work closely with device engineers from the different product lines to produce reports, device quality graphs, enable automation on data sources and develop applications that increase internal customer productivity. You will work on developing code and applications using GFIT and cloud-based infrastructure. You will also contribute to advanced modeling of device data using statistical, analytical and machine learning techniques. In addition, you will be involved in establishing and communicating the value of the reports, insights and models the team produces.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with GlobalFoundries device engineers to translate their needs into actionable insights derived from analytical analysis

  • Enable automation of both data preparation and data visualization of semiconductor device reports and analysis

  • Contribute to the development and deployment of production grade analysis applications with both on premises and cloud based infrastructure

  • Collaborate closely with GFIT, Manufacturing Product Lines and support the Infrastructure Team in building the required automation necessary for reports and graphing

  • Help to identify suitable machine learning or statistical approaches on Device Engineering types of problems.

  • Contribute to deploying predictive models into production with assistance from Product Engineers.

  • Communicate value of analytics to Fab leadership and business partners and increase the awareness of Device Engineering analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s in data science or related field from an accredited degree program.

  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

  • Experience in working with and analyzing large data sets with code

  • Some experience in coding, either with several courses completed or with some practical experience - primarily Python, JavaScript or SQL would be a plus

  • Data visualization and plotting experience with code

  • Experience working with common large data libraries such as pandas and numpy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.

  • Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong planning & organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical audience.

  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
