Lead Business Intelligence Engineer

Salary £45,000 - £60,000

A bit about the job:

At Aviva, we’re seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead BI Engineer to join our growing Business Intelligence team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and optimise our BI architecture, working with cutting-edge tools and technologies to deliver solutions that empower decision-makers across the organisation.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of data architecture and modelling, proficiency in SQL or similar languages. Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow, or equivalent data pipeline tools.

  • Data Transformation: Expertise in data transformation processes and a proven track record in designing and implementing data pipelines to extract data from various sources and transform it for use in visualisation tools like Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI.

  • Data Modelling: The ability to create robust data models that support complex business analysis and reporting. Experience with data modelling techniques such as dimensional modelling or entity-relationship modelling.

  • Data Quality: having a strong understanding of data quality principles and best practices and experience with data validation, cleansing, and standardisation techniques.

  • Continuous Learning and Adaptability: A passion for staying current with the latest trends and technologies in data and analytics in addition to the ability to adapt to new tools, methodologies, and business needs.

  • Starting salary between £45,000 - £60,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications)
