We are looking to hire a Data Architect who will design and architect big data solutions that align with business objectives. You will create robust database back-ends and web services, collaborating closely with the development team to develop conceptual data models and data flows. Additionally, you will establish best practices for data coding, implement strategic data initiatives, and leverage the latest development and server technologies from Microsoft, Amazon, and Apache.  About the team 
The SQL, Python, Oracle, AWS, and Azure-certified members of our Data Center of Excellence (DCoE) team primarily work on enterprise-scale projects, including AI and ML solutions across various industries and applications. Involved in all stages of processing, migrating, and preparing data from/to public cloud providers, the team applies expert skills in data architecture, big data management, business intelligence, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data automation, and database optimization. 

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and architect big data solutions to support business needs
• Design and architect database back-end as well as web services to interface with external applications
• Work with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows
• Develop best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system
• Implement data strategies and develop physical data models
• Work with the latest development and server technologies from Microsoft, Amazon, and Apache
• Review and analyze business requirements and provide a technical perspective on approach, risk, and estimated development time
• Communicate day-to-day with client team members, expert personnel, and subject matter experts
• Participate in rapid, prototype-based design sessions
• Troubleshoot and optimize data systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL) 
• Hands-on designing highly scalable ETL processes or data ingestion pipelines
• In-depth knowledge of any of the popular database and data warehouse technologies from SQL & NoSQL realm – AWS Redshift, AWS DynamoDB, Oracle, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc. 
• Familiarity in database design, modeling, data mart, data warehouse architecture, and data lake
• Expertise in database query execution and optimization techniques
• Strong knowledge of systems development, including system development life cycle, project management approaches and requirements, design and testing techniques
• Ability to think strategically and demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to and learn new technologies and concepts 
• Fluent in English

A significant advantage would be an experience with

• Amazon Web Services (AWS Athena, AWS Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, DMS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, EMR, Redshift, EC2)
• Azure Business Intelligence Services (Power BI, Power BI Embedded, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Synapse Analytics)
• Azure Big Data Services (HDInsight, Data Lake Analytics, Data Lake Store)
• Databricks and/or Apache Spark
• Snowflake
• ETL tools such as Airflow, Talend, Matillion, Informatica, ODI, SSIS
• Hadoop ecosystem
