Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a Associate Director, Data Scientist based out of our New York or Chicago office.

We’ll Count on You To:

  • Develop and implement credit assessment models and scorecards using Fitch data.
  • Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to build predictive models.
  • Validate and back-test models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and visualizations.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in data science and credit risk modelling.

What You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in R and Python for data analysis, modelling, and visualization.
  • Experience of working in financial modelling, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience with SQL and database management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards in credit risk modelling.
  • Knowledge of other data analysis tools and programming languages.

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $115,000 and $140,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors.  Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
