Cyber Analytics & Assurance is a second line of defense function as part of the larger RTX Cyber Defense organization. Our mission is to minimize cyber risk across all RTX businesses by identifying, prioritizing, reporting and driving swift resolution of the most critical cyber risks.

We are seeking a talented, motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Intern to assist our team. This position is ideal for a college student who wants to make a meaningful impact on the organization’s security posture, and to gain hands-on and in-depth work experience in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of vulnerability & defect management, threat intelligence, and data analytics. You will work alongside highly experienced cybersecurity professionals who are eager to mentor and guide you to support your development path and career objectives.  

What You Will do

  • Assist in the identification, tracking, and remediation of security vulnerabilities and defects within our network, systems, and applications. 
  • Support the development of vulnerability management reports, summarizing findings and remediation actions. 
  • Monitor threat feeds and security advisories to identify emerging vulnerabilities and assess their impact on our environment. 
  • Collaborate with various IT and development teams to ensure timely resolution of prioritized cyber risks. 
  • Support development, operation, and continuous improvement of data pipelines and process automation for the collection, and analysis and production of actionable threat and vulnerability intelligence work products.
  • Support development, operation, and continuous improvement of methods for dynamic risk modelling leveraging AI/ML capabilities.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Candidates must be currently pursuing a college degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Intelligence Studies or a related field discipline with a focus on Cybersecurity. Please upload unofficial transcript with your application.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office
  • This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Basic understanding of vulnerability management processes and security tools. 
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network fundamentals. 
  • Experience with, or exposure to vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS, etc.). 
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and languages, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI.  
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis, AI/ML and data visualization techniques

Location: This position is a remote role.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. 

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
