Job Summary

Comcast is continually expanding on its ability to govern metadata across the Enterprise to provide a technical blueprint of its data landscape as well as ensuring internal external data is protected and properly governed. For this Engineer 3 role, we are looking for someone with 3-5 years or working experience in Java/Spring/Cloud development. The right candidate will be a motivated individual that can drive innovation, seek answers and takes pride in their work.

Job Description

A successful Engineer 3 will be a pro-active member of the team who can take requirements and turn them into production grade solutions in a timely manner. You should have a sincere interest in learning and a desire to continuously improve your skillset and the reputation of the team. Typical responsibilities include taking on projects and tasks, building out Rest services, backend production deployments, and code reviews.


Please note: This team is primarily based in Englewood, CO and preference will be given to applicants in that location. We will also consider applicants for our Philadelphia office (1800 Arch Street). It is not eligible for remote/virtual employment or alternate locations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
  • Participates in code reviews 
  • Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.
  • Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.
  • Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
  • Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
  • Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Technical Experience:

  • Java 1.8+ development 
  • REST service(s) development/support 
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Concourse) 
  • AWS Cloud EC2, SNS/SQS, Cloudwatch, Lambda, RDS, Glue, Kinesis, ACM 
  • Spring/Springboot 
  • SQL 
     

Preferred Experience in: Python, Fusion, Angular/Typescript, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Linux, Docker

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $113,052.32 - $169,578.49

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
