Roca Robotics, a hardware division of TCGplayer, designs, manufactures and supports automation and digitization hardware and software for sorting and managing tradingcards.

Who You Are
 

Are you a seasoned Software Engineering Manager interested in helping revolutionize the collectibles industry? Look no further—TCGPlayer is seeking a dynamic leader to guide the Roca Robotics engineering team in driving the next phase of digitization.
 

As the Software Engineering Manager, reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will play a critical role in delivering cutting-edge integrated hardware and software solutions for digitization. You’ll lead a talented team of software engineers to enhance existing digitization systems and bring innovative solutions to market.
 

In this role, you will shape the software engineering functions at Roca Robotics, working closely with our R&D, Computer Vision, and Product teams to ensure alignment and achieve business goals. Your leadership will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation, helping Roca navigate the rapidly evolving robotics industry.
 

We’re looking for a candidate who thrives in dynamic environments and can leverage both technical expertise and strategic insight to drive cross-functional initiatives. The Impact You Will Make Here

  • Drive business growth by leading the software engineering team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and continuous innovation

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration, partnering closely with the product, R&D and computer vision teams to achieve shared goals and accelerate development

  • Develop and monitor performance metrics to enhance transparency, assess progress, and measure the impact of key initiatives

  • Shape Roca's technical and product roadmap, providing strategic input and ensuring alignment with business objectives

  • Lead efforts to optimize software systems and processes, improving operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement

  • Promote team development by setting ambitious goals and supporting the career growth of the software engineering team
     

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (or equivalent experience) in computer science or a related technical field

  • 5+ years of experience working in software engineering fields

  • 1 + years of experience in software engineering leadership or management roles, with a track record of delivering results

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in technical fields related to robotics, automation, or manufacturing

  • A hands-on, player-coach mentality, adept at both technical contributions and leading a team of individual contributors

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA) to organize tasks and streamline team workflows

  • Experience with Python, C++, SQL, AWS, Linux shell, and scripting, with the ability to guide the team in these technologies

  • Ability to work Hybrid (3 days a week) from our our Longmont, CO location, contributing to Roca’s mission onsite

This role will pay $150,000-170,000
