Job Description

To efficiently deploy and execute (deep) neural networks on embedded systems, the right hardware target must be carefully selected, and the characteristics of each platform must be exploited and utilized. Mastering these disciplines is essential for successful embedded/Edge AI system design.

Your Tasks:

• In our team you scout and evaluate new hardware accelerators for AI workloads.
• You optimize and deploy neural networks for different hardware targets.
• Furthermore, you identify runtime performance bottlenecks for embedded systems, including the hardware platform, and toolchain stack.
• You develop methods and tools for deployment, optimization, and system analysis for heterogeneous SoCs in cloud-based setups.
• Last but not least, you gain experience and collaborate in a cross-functional team spanning algorithm, deployment, and hardware.

Qualifications

• Education: degree (PhD/Master) in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or comparable subject
• Personality and Working Practice: motivated, goal oriented, creative, innovative with the ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Experience and Knowledge:
  • strong background in digital hardware, embedded systems as well as in SoC architectures
  • experience with neural networks especially in the context of embedded systems
  • very good skills in software programming (C, C++, Python)
  • experience with deployment frameworks, compilers and system simulation, especially in cloud-based setups (Azure, AWS), is a plus
• Enthusiasm: keen interest in future technologies and trends with passion for innovation
• Languages: fluent in English, German is a plus
