Organizational Overview

Our Analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth

Role Summary/Purpose: Manager, Analytics – SAMS (Individual Contributor) role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH). The role will be working in close collaboration with IAH and US Analytics teams to help solve key business problems with solutions that are powered by data and analytics. This role will include clear understanding of business requirement ,ask right questions, build & review prototype, work with data to generate actionable insights to address project delivery enabling Synchrony’s growth and profitability. The model candidate must be skilled in data & analytics, intellectually curious, has ‘Go Getter Attitude’, Goal Oriented and should be able to deliver independently.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create/Maintain and deliver tools/reports to allow business partners and external customers to self-service and empower them to run their business.

  • Develop actionable insights on key business drivers and identify revenue opportunities using data visualization and storytelling.

  • Analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations to optimize targeting and ROI.

  • Proactively propose, initiate & execute strategic open-ended/ambiguous problems.

  • Deep dive and deliver on Ad-hoc & Strategic projects.

  • Thought Leadership / Ability to self-complete projects with less guidance

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant Analytics experience, or in lieu of a degree 4+ years of relevant Analytics experience.

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on SQL and SAS programming experience with an ability to leverage advanced algorithms and be efficient in handling complex/large data sets.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leveraging data/analytics to drive strategy with positive outcomes

  • Proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and story boarding skills

  • Intellectually curious candidate with a passion for delivering impact in the sales and marketing analytics world

  • Good working knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 2+ years of analytics/data science experience in Financial Services Industry

  • Experience in working with Python and R Knowledge of multivariable calculus and linear algebra with predictive performance or algorithm optimization techniques, ML methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, Random Forest, etc

Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant Analytics experience, or in lieu of a degree 4+ years of relevant Analytics experience.

Work Timings:

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
