Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Power BI Developer to create and manage BI solutions that turn data into knowledge. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Power BI Pro and a strong background in data analysis, modelling, and visualization. You will work closely with key business stakeholders to design and develop dashboards, reports, and data models that deliver actionable insights and foster a data-driven decision-making culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Development of Power BI Solutions:

• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Create efficient and visually appealing data visualizations, using Power BI advanced features.
• Work knowledge on Aggregation, filter , logical , math and trigger, parent and child functions.
• Develop, publish, and schedule Power BI reports using Power BI Service, making them available for stakeholders across the organization.

Data Modeling & ETL Processes:

• Build robust data models, develop relationships between data sources, and design measures using DAX.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Excel, APIs) into Power BI
• Implement and optimize scheduled data refreshes to ensure reports provide up-to-date insights.

Collaboration and Sharing:

• Collaborate with business users and analysts to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
• Share reports and dashboards securely using Power BI  workspaces and app features, enabling team-based collaboration.
• Manage shared datasets and ensure data accuracy across various reports.

Data Administration:

• Utilize security features, including Row-Level Security (RLS), to control access to data.
• Set up and maintain scheduled refreshes and monitor performance to ensure optimal report efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any data or performance issues related to Power BI Pro reports.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

• Ensure Power BI reports and dashboards are optimized for performance, including faster load times and minimized data lag.
• Tune complex DAX queries for maximum efficiency and performance.
• Implement live data connections and real-time reporting where applicable.

Data Governance and Compliance:

• Ensure all Power BI Pro reports and data models adhere to data governance and security policies.
• Work with IT and data governance teams to maintain data integrity and security protocols across Power BI solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Power BI Pro Expertise: Proven experience in developing and managing Power BI Pro reports, dashboards, and datasets.
• DAX (Data Analysis Expressions): Proficiency in writing complex DAX queries to create advanced calculations and measures.
• SQL: Intermediate skills in SQL for querying and managing data from relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
• Data Modelling: Hands-on experience in designing data models and relationships within Power BI.
• ETL Processes: Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) into Power BI from various data sources.
• Power BI Service: Deep understanding of Power BI Service, including workspace management, app deployment, and sharing capabilities.
• Scheduled Data Refresh: Familiarity with setting up and managing scheduled refreshes and live connections in Power BI Pro.
• Row-Level Security (RLS): Experience implementing security measures within Power BI Pro reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Azure Integration: Experience with Azure data platforms (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, or Azure Analysis Services).
• Other BI Tools: Familiarity with other BI tools such as Tableau or Qlik is a plus.
• Power Automate Integration: Experience with integrating Power BI with Power Automate for workflow automation.
• Portfolio: Existing portfolio to showcase the experience in visualization is preferred.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with Power BI, specifically Power BI Pro, to deliver business intelligence solutions.
• Certification in Microsoft Power BI would be an added advantage(e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate)
