The Electrical Engineering Program is looking for a Tutor for Spring 2024.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tutor

Following the UW Classification Description for Tutor, tutors provide individual or group instructional activities in support of regular academic programs.

Under supervision, Tutor duties may include: individual tutoring sessions, group tutoring sessions on a weekly basis to assist students with homework/projects, problems about machine learning algorithms and/or Python programming; presentation at workshops, and other duties as assigned. Tutors may not perform teaching duties.

The faculty supervisor will provide specific details about the duties related to each course and the number of allocated grading or facilitating hours prior to the start of your appointment.

These positions are eligible for work study.

Hours per week: 5-6 (to be determined)

Hourly pay rate: $19.97-$21.57

    • Undergraduate student rate—$19.97/hour
    • Graduate student rate—$21.57/hour

Estimated work period: Approximately April 25 - June 15, 2024

Qualifications

  •  CSS students who have completed CSS 486 Machine Intelligence or CSS 581 Machine Learning
  • CSS students who have good program skills with Python
  • Must be a currently registered UW student in Spring quarter, taking at least 6 credits if an undergraduate or 4 credits if a graduate student.  

Note: If you are or will be working elsewhere on campus, be aware that students are limited to working a combined total of 19.5 hours per week, or 19 hours if work study, in all campus jobs when you are enrolled in classes.
