Programme duration: From 4-6 months, starting in 2025. Most individuals join in April, May, or June of each year.   

Who qualifies: Penultimate or final year students completing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degrees.

Your future role at QRT  

The specific team you join will be decided considering both your capabilities and the needs of the business, throughout the recruitment process. Here are the potential roles you could assume within one of QRT's systematic or discretionary desks, spanning high, mid, and low frequencies: 

Quantitative Researcher: you will utilize mathematical modelling, statistical techniques, data analysis, and machine learning methods to analyse data and develop investment strategies. You will share and discuss research results with other researchers, fostering a collaborative environment. Additionally, you will work closely with colleagues across various disciplines, including Traders and Software Engineers, to drive innovation and achieve shared goals.  

Quantitative Trader: you will assist in developing our systematic trading platform, seeking to leverage quantitative research outputs for production purposes. You will continuously track strategy performance, signal behaviour, and execution platform efficiency, helping to identify and manage potential risks. Collaborating closely with senior traders and researchers, you will aim to improve production results, leveraging quantitative methods and programming. 

We are seeking interns eager to learn, exercise creativity, and engage in collaboration to contribute to the firm's broader growth and success. 

 

Your present skillset  

  • Pursuing an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as data science, statistics, economics, econometrics, mathematics, physics, or engineering  
  • High level of technical knowledge in statistics, machine learning, NLP or AI techniques is a plus  
  • Coding skills required in at least one leading programming language (Python and C++ or C#) 
  • Experience in exploring large datasets across multiple time frames is a plus 
  • Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while keeping strong attention to detail  
  • Ability to work autonomously, in a collegial and collaborative setting, and with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise. 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
