Overview

The Product Manager will analyze market opportunities and define needs for analytics solutions across the Cotiviti enterprise, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). They will support a matrixed, shared service performing value and business case analysis for Enterprise Product and Business Unit Product teams. They will provide the business and product perspective and requirements to engineering and other departments within Cotiviti. This includes defining the problem to solve, quantifying the business value of a solution, and determining measures of success, along with communicating product workflows that enable ease-of-use for end users and documenting specific features and functions to improve and expand Cotiviti's analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Market Needs: Work with Marketing, Product Strategy and GTM teams to understand market needs for Analytics & AI solutions. Work with internal and external customers to gather requirements that address their market problems and challenges and ensure requirements are well documented in epics and features. Work with engineering teams to ensure that the market and customer needs are fully understood by development stakeholders and final outputs meet customer requirements.
  • Perform Analysis: Perform detailed product and content analysis to support exploration, evaluation and development of new solutions. Triage requests and distribute across internal analysis resources (Opportunity Intelligence, Payment Analytics, etc.). Combine data, operational, and technical insights to answer difficult questions to drive product strategy. Partner with data scientists to understand various Cotiviti data sources and how they can be applied to solve business problems.
  • Define Product Solutions: Conduct product research to further understand the solution profile and market requirements.  Develop market and business requirements for acceptance into analytics products, as well as maintaining detailed user personas and scenarios; maintain a groomed backlog and detailed BRDs. Provide solution guidance and support for other departments including but not limited to Engineering, Operations, Technical Writing, IT/Release, Training, Client Services as well as sales support when appropriate.  Conceive analytic-driven methods to improve the precision, value or efficiency of our products or processes
  • Prioritize Analytics & AI Solutions: Assist in driving strategic direction of products through prioritization based on sound business cases and thorough understanding of market/customer needs and direct interaction/feedback with clients.
  • Product Launch: Support operational and technical teams in delivering targeted outcomes via Agile development process.  Ensure new analytics capabilities and solutions meet business and product requirements. Work across the enterprise to coordinate analytics activities and spread knowledge to other teams, including implementations, client services, sales, etc. Provide product input to internal and external communications, including release notes, user guides and marketing material. Author, edit and post relevant product launch documentation in on-line tools to document processes and results of analysis
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, analytics, computer science, or related fields or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience with healthcare billing and coding data and analysis
  • 3+ years’ experience delivering actionable insights from data
  • 3+ years' experience with at least one of the following:
    • Business intelligence (data visualization and dashboarding, Tableau, etc.)
    • SQL syntax for multiple databases (e.g., standard SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • "Big data" analytics environments (Hadoop, etc.)
    • Scripting languages (Scala, R, Python, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of health insurance claims data, how data is stored in analytical platforms, and how to use and apply claims data in the validation of payment accuracy concepts and other projects.
  • Experience working in a software and product development environment; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Product management experience preferred. Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred.
  • Experience using statistics, data science, and/or artificial intelligence to solve business problems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience communicating with individuals of all backgrounds and areas of expertise.
  • Experience managing projects with an eye towards budget and timeline constraints, with results orientation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time (not consistent)

  • Must be self-motivated and passionate about creating solutions for diverse and challenging healthcare problems, including the ability to understand data, analytics and user needs across different client types and translate those needs into specific product requirements that will deliver customer value.
  • Ability to understand and communicate concepts related to statistics, data science, and artificial intelligence
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on financial data
  • Ability to summarize and effectively communicate complex concepts & varied data sets to inform stakeholders, gain approval, or prompt actions. Applies to multiple audiences ranging from the analyst to executive level; Includes oral & written communication and multimedia presentation.
  • Ability to articulate and document a scope, process, accountable owners and project milestones and timelines. Includes summarizing project health and outcomes at any point in the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to understand, generate and evaluate healthcare utilization, unit cost and medical cost trends preferred.
  • Ability to work within a matrixed organization
  • Attention to detail and assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
  • Desire and capacity to learn new concepts and software
  • Ability to properly handle confidential information
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position and use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • After hours / weekend work required where necessary for major deliverables / deadlines (not consistent)'
  • Must have flexibility and willingness to participate in the work processes of an international organization, including conference calls scheduled to accommodate global time zones.

Base compensation ranges from $98,000 to $121,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
