About the Role:

As the Data and Digital Programme Lead within the Quality & Supply Chain Data Analytics & Digital (QSC D&D) organisation, you will play a critical role in driving data and digital transformation within the QSC function. 

You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery, execution and ongoing management of the QSC D&D portfolio, with an annual spend of GBP 30-50 million, through effective leadership of a Project Management Office (PMO) and will maintain strategic partnerships with Business Units (BUs), Quality Supply Chain Leadership Team (QSCLT), and the Tech & Digital teams.

This position requires a leader in project & programme management with data and digital experience who can navigate complex environments, influence senior stakeholders and connect strategy to execution.

Key responsibilities:

Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead a portfolio of QSC D&D projects and effectively prioritising projects given constrained resources to deliver utmost value and ensure alignment with business strategic objectives. 
  • Facilitate agenda for Data & Digital Steering to ensure the right information is presented and required decisions are made.
  • Monitor and report on portfolio performance to enable the project/programme steering committees to make data-driven decisions.
  • Define portfolio risk and issue management and mitigation process to intervene where project delivery within budget, scope, and timelines are at risk. 
  • BAU/ongoing management of data & digital portfolio: management of change requests, ensuring the right training is available and product lifecycle management of QSC D&D portfolio.

Project Management Office Leadership

  • Implement a structured approach to project management across all QSC D&D initiatives, with a clear set of rules, methods and best practices that guide how projects should be initiated, executed and closed.
  • Accountable for the overall delivery and execution of the PMO, ensuring projects adhere to the PMO framework.
  • Regularly review the PMO framework and drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data insights to ensure processes are effective and outcomes are optimised. 

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide matrix leadership and strong dotted line oversight of Project Managers within the QSC D&D organisation.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, with project managers adhering to a set of structured PMO approach/framework and operating rhythm.
  • Support the professional development of the PM’s within the QSC D&D organisation, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge

Business Interface & Demand Management

  • Serve as the primary business interface for demand management within the QSC D&D domain, ensuring that business needs are accurately captured and prioritized.
  • Collaborate with BUs and QSC leadership to understand their data and digital needs, translating them into actionable projects and initiatives.
  • Manage the pipeline of QSC D&D projects, balancing demand with available resources and budget.

Strategic Partnerships

  • Own and maintain the business relationship with Business Units (BUs) and QSC Leadership, ensuring ongoing alignment and communication regarding D&D initiatives.
  • Establish and manage a strong relationship with Tech & Digital teams to ensure the effective and timely fulfillment of QSC D&D demands.
  • Act as a strategic partner in the development of the long-term vision for Data & Digital within the QSC function.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required

  • 10-15 years experience in project and programme management, including leading large-scale complex projects/programmes and delivering on time and in scope, in a dynamic environment within a global, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategy and ability to translate it into project/programme objectives to deliver transformation and performance.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation, data analytics, and emerging technologies in the supply chain domain.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in matrix management and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including agile practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a STEM-related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the Consumer Healthcare, CPG, or FMCG industries is preferred.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and remote teams
