Job Summary 
 

Data and Analytics are core components of Horizon Next.  They are used to drive and inform decision making at all levels of the company.  The Horizon Next Analytics team offers a suite of analytical models to help our strategy and client teams plan and optimize media campaigns. 

 

The Senior Analyst, Product Management will assist, and in some cases, lead in the implementation and maintenance of these models across our clients.  They will become a knowledgeable resource on the models offered by Next Analytics and will work closely with the Horizon Next strategy and client teams as they use the various models.  The Senior Analyst will be familiar with the process of running and setup for these models. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for addressing issues in reporting of these models and work with other team members to identify and build improvements. 

 

This is a hands-on role in which the Senior Analyst will be deeply involved in both the data inputs for the models and the code that runs them.  The Senior Analyst is an elevated role from Analyst, which has more responsibility towards the day to day managing of reporting and requires a more proactive role within the team. The Senior Analyst will be seen as experienced team member who can work self-sufficiently, identify problems, suggest solutions, and implement them. 

 

 

What You’ll Do 
 

60% Deploy and maintain Next Analytics models for Horizon Next clients

  • Ensure existing model pipelines run smoothly and produce high-quality data 
  • Help strategy and client teams interpret model outputs 
  • Take lead with onboarding new clients by gathering the required data inputs needed for their models 
  • Update models for existing clients to add new features or KPIs 
  • Identify opportunities to automate model onboarding and deployment 
  • Investigate model bugs or output issues that may arise 
  • Be an active team member in data discovery meetings 

20% Manage QA of model input and output

  • Lead on building processes to provide data to client teams for transparency and reporting 
  • Work with client teams to maintain QA files 
  • Help to update mappings and reference tables 
  • Troubleshoot issues with data ingestion and create tickets to address

20% Improve existing processes

  • Work with manager to further develop models 
  • Build new solutions towards model reporting 
  • Take time understanding how models work and gain insights from them 
  • Mentor junior team members in their roles and help them develop their own skills as needed

  • You enjoy tracking down discrepancies and finding the root cause of an issue 
  • You have a “get it done” mentality and view new requests and challenges as opportunities to shine 
  • You love learning new things and see unfamiliar technology or code as a chance learn and grow 
  • You have spent time in a technical and coding-based role with experience both in data analysis and algorithms as well as data pipelines  
  • You have experience working “hands-on” with modeling code and with raw/messy data 
  • You can explain model requirements to non-technical users and help them interpret model results 

 

Preferred Skills & Experience  
 

  •  A strong understanding of how to use SQL to build complex data transformations 
  • Experience using Python for data analysis and pipelines in a work environment 
  • Familiarity with a cloud-based data warehouse like AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, etc. 
  • Nice to have: experience using dbt, Git, Tableau and experience in the media/advertising/ad-tech industries 

 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations  

  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Marketing, or related technical fields, or equivalent years of work experience

Salary Range

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00

A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
