Purpose of Role:

As a Software Engineer in the Intelligent Process Optimization team at Weir, you build products that combine Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), machine learning, cloud, and software engineering. Your contributions will have global impact by enabling a sustainable and efficient delivery of the natural resources essential to create a better future.

In this role, you will be working in a cross-functional agile team to build and maintain software for our process optimization products that runs in Kubernetes, on Azure, and is written in Python and Go. You will continuously adapt, improve, and implement the system design for the platform, applications, and services that deliver our product features.

In the role as full stack software engineer, we will expect you to take on a wider responsibility in understanding the product and its requirements, designing the software components and services and implementing both backend and frontend components of production grade quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain services and applications written in TypeScript and Go.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine and integrate new features.
• Apply security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Communicate intent, progress, blockers, and results with the team.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• Demonstrable long-term ownership of production software.
• Demonstrable intuition for system design and trade-off analysis.
• Demonstrable experience in collaborative software development using Git.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and tools.
