We seek candidates whose research focuses on the development and application of biomedical data science tools, including modeling, machine learning/AI, optimization, and analysis. Research topics, both foundational and applied, at the intersection of machine learning and the biomedical sciences and the healthcare ecosystem, among other research areas, are of interest to this call. Applications of biomedical data science may be in any relevant domain such as imaging, genomics, health records, or other biomedical data.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a cutting-edge research program that leverages MPS technologies to explore new avenues in physiology, disease mechanisms, drug development, and tissue regeneration.

Opportunities for interactions across the University include: Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare, Translational Tissue Engineering Center, Center for Computational Biology, Alliance for Cardiovascular Diagnostic and Treatment Innovation, Institute for Computational Medicine, Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Institute, Center for Imaging Sciences, Data Science and AI Institute, and the Mathematical Institute for Data Science.

Johns Hopkins University strives to be a pluralistic community that embraces the values and imperatives of diversity, equity, and inclusion as integral to our missions of education, research, and service.  We are committed to doing our part to address both the lag in diverse faculty recruitment in higher education and the need to build stronger networks to support faculty advancement and success.  Thus, we are endeavoring to hire multiple faculty members into interdisciplinary cohorts (clusters) for Fall 2025 anticipated start dates.

The expected salary range for these positions is: Assistant Professors $150k-$200k, Associate Professors $180k-$245k, Full Professors $220k-$500k, for 12-month FTE. The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Diversity, equity and inclusion are integral values of the University. Accordingly, the Departments involved seek candidates who can contribute to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion through service, mentorship, teaching, and scholarship.

Applications will be reviewed starting January 1, 2025 and will be accepted until the position is filled. In-person interviews will be conducted in Spring 2025.
